Former Interim Head of Performance & Optimisation, EDF power solutions | Current full-time AI & Machine Learning student

With eight years of power trading and commercial optimisation experience in the UK energy market, preceded by six years in nuclear operations, Tom recently led technical & commercial operational performance teams for EDF power solutions across battery storage, wind, and solar technologies. As the Interim Head of Performance & Optimisation, he drove operational excellence across the 600MWh storage fleet that’s been developed following the Pivot Power acquisition.

Tom is passionate about driving actionable insights at the intersection of technology and trading. He is currently taking a career break to upskill in AI and Machine Learning with Imperial College London and LSE. His focus now is on applying advanced modelling, neural networks, and deep learning to unlock asset value and improve decision-making in operations.​

Currently balancing studies in AI with family life, he brings a unique perspective on people, technology, and the evolving BESS landscape.
