Margot Smith is the ESG Manager at Octopus Energy Generation. OEGEN manages £7 billion in energy assets across the UK and Europe, focusing on accelerating the transition to a sustainable energy future through investments in solar, onshore wind, BESS and energy transition technologies.

At OEGEN, Margot manages the integration of ESG across the business and its renewable energy funds. Her role spans managing the ESG team, overseeing ESG and impact reporting, the development and implementation of strategic ESG policies, and the design of initiatives that drive positive environmental and social outcomes. She also works closely with the investment and asset management teams to assess and monitor ESG risks and opportunities throughout the asset lifecycle.

Margot holds a degree in Biological Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
